Trendy Tuesday: Spring Shoes for 2017

It is no secret that I am obsessed with spring shoes.  My mother says it comes from my grandmother (Gran) as she always had a collection of shoes.  My mother-in-law has countless number of shoes. Finally, my mother is the one that trained my shoe-eye!

Today I wanted to share with you trendy spring shoes for 2017, including cute variations for any wallet weight! Each picture features the designer version that typically spurs the trend, an affordable and well-made mid-range budget option, and a cheap option that fits the bill.  Scroll right on each product widget to see the more affordable options.

The mix of bohemian prints and preppy structure that are prevailing on fashion week runways are also dissolving into shoe trends.  I have never had a larger shoe wishlist and I have literally purchased or received 9 pairs of shoes in the last month and thrifted double that to Goodwill.  My latest obsession has been sneakers, but I have a ton of beautiful bow sandals on my birthday wishlist (that I plan to share next week, so stay tuned)!

There are a lot of crossover with each trend, but I tried to organize them I hope you enjoy this post as much as I have enjoyed browsing the market for you!

Trendy Spring Shoes for 2017

The Strappy sandal: Who can resist the always sexy strappy heel!  The gladiator trend remains prevalent, but the overall design of shoes are shifting toward tie-up or wrap around laces and T-strap structured straps.  A strappy heel is timeless and is a keeper, so this is a good one to splurge on.  I have wanted the Valentino Rockstud heels for going on 5 years now!

The Mules- and Loafers: Gucci is my latest unhealthy fashion obsession. I am obsessed with the unique yet not-too eccentric patterns and styles! Gucci’s classic shoe design has been the loafer-style mule heel, and the look has inspired so many styles of mules. Tassels, patches, and fun prints are just a couple of the fun, feminine embellishments offered to bring these shoes to modern day. Who knew 5 years ago that we would share shoe styles with our grandads in 2017!?

The Espadrille Platforms: Chloe, Valentino, and Gucci all have their own versions of the espadrille wedge and platform heels.  Heels are weaved together or lined with straw-like rope to great the cultured hand-made look.  You cannot browse Instagram’s explore feature without seeing a pair of these Marc Fisher wedges on someones’ feet.  I am not complaining!  Heres to hoping that this beautiful style sticks around a while!

The Casual Sneaker:  Athleisure has become a new button on most online shop websites.  “Dresses, tops, pants, athleisure, shoes.” Along with this trend is the influx of casual sneakers.  Again, who can complain that such comfortable shoe options are flooding the market right now! I featured some more stylish sneaker options rather than brands that specialize in trainers.

The Tassel details: Tassels are no longer tacky.  Think the tassel wrap your Mom had holding back her floral curtains in the 90’s, but tiny versions on shoes. You can basically buy any item with tassels on it right now and it is stylish. I love the Loeffler Randall tassel shoes, but think I will stick to getting some tasseled loafers this year.

The Bow details: Finally, last but my favorite trend, is the bow accents! Bows are classic and timeless, so you cannot go wrong purchasing any sort of shoe that features bows! Kate Spade has known this all along, but many other designer brands are taking advantage of it! Put a bow on it!

Accents: Studs, pom-poms, pearls, patches

Design: Perforated cuts, leopard print, camo, florals, graphic

Material: Suede, metallic, straw, lace, patent, velvet

Symbols: Stars, hearts, eye and lip shapes

Heels: Chunky heels, wedges, platforms, and metal material

Colors: Cognac, Beige, Ivory, and Taupe are all the rage! Other neutrals, blue, pinks
