Happy Wednesday beautiful soul! If you are a blogger fan at all I am sure you are aware that the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale begins tomorrow for Nordstrom Cardholders. The sale goes live for everyone else 8 days later on July 22. The Nordstrom Anniversary Sale is different BECAUSE the massive fall and winter released clothes that go on sale are ALL NEW items. These are also the items you will see across the blogosphere for the next 5 months.
I spent quite a bit of money during last year’s sale and practically memorized the entire selection. There was no item I had not considered. In addition to my favorite magazine pieces, I will be sharing a try-on session on Instagram stories, what I buy, a “gifts to stock up on” post, and a beauty list.
If you do not have a Nordstrom card, you CAN still apply to get one in the HERE. Honestly, I am not a fan or supporter of credit cards, but I do use this one to shop the sale early. Also, Nordstrom accepts returns at ANY TIME and has wonderful customer service. Also, having 1-2 cards does not hurt your credit, assuming you pay them on time. Without further ado, here are the top sellers from both 2016 and 2017:
TOP SELL-OUT ITEMS EVERY YEAR
- Stuart Weitzman Over The Knee Boot : Every year one (or two) variations of the boot this brand is known for sells out. I have read rave reviews and once I started following blogs in 2011, I fell in love with the over-the-knee boots they all wore. So chic, sexy, and classic, I told myself I would one day have these boots. The black suede ” ” style were the absolute first item I added to cart last year. 2016 Variety was a Mid-rise heel with black or cognac options. It is notable that the “Highland” style also went on sale, separate from the Anniversary Sale, at the same time. The Highland style included Black, Stone or steel grey, light grey, and a beige shade.
- Dreamers by Debut Cardigan – A blogger favorite, this brand boasts some of the softest fabric and was the first brand of cardigans to sell out. If you like wearing cardigans, this is the time to stock up.
- Other Cardigans – When I did not have a Nordstrom card, I really wanted 3 cardigans during the Anniversary Sale, but they (per usual) sold out fully before the sale went public. I spent the entire fall of 2015 looking for colorful, soft, well-made cardigans and found nothing. There will be no other time that you will have such a variety of options. The unique color variations sell out first. Last year, this included the Madewell in Burgundy (XS), Leith Circle Cardigan in Pink (XS), and the Topshop Cardigan (Size 2) in Camel. The best bargain is the BP cardigan, which varies slightly every year. It is priced to $31.90 during the Anniversary Sale, and is of great quality. I bought 7 cardigans total last year and the BP brand was my most versatile (XXS – size down).
- Topshop Statement Pieces – I just mentioned Topshop, but they offered 2 uniquely-printed oversize cardigans in 2017. Both were sold out the first morning of Early Access. Topshop twists classics and they are always a huge hit during the sale. Make sure to search the brand and you can bet the items that catch your eye first will also sell out first.
- Barbour Jacket – In the first couple years we dated, my husband Brad and I gifted eachother the classic Barbour Jacket. We first bought the green classic style- that was not included in the sale last year, but I would love to add the navy version to my list. Due to the extreme bargain offered on this item, it is not restocked and always sells out in week 1. I took a size 4 that is the smallest offered size.
- Tory Burch bag – Each year, Tory Burch includes a $500 bag on sale for around $350. Last year I bought this
- Designer Denim – Paige, AG, Frame, and Rag & Bone are my favorite brands ALL on major sale.
- BlankNYC Moto Jacket – This moto jacket is classic, feminine, edgy, and flattering. Each year a different color or version is offered. Priced $125.90 ($198 after sale). 2017 offered a Red, Spice (cognac), and Grey variations, all suede. Runs small. I have my eye on the OLIVE option I discovered through IG stories.
- Rails Plaid – A cult favorite of plaid flannel variety, this brand is marked down 30%. Typically $150 a top, these colorful, classic options drop to $99.
- Zella Leggings –
- Cashmere – Cashmere scarfs and sweaters always sell out immediately as they are highly discounted. These items are not even on sale at Christmas.
- Patagonia Pullover – This is a great time to invest in pullovers. I wear a Small or Medium.
- The ‘It’ Sneaker – The black Nike Flyknit was sold out first in 2015. In 2016, it was the millennial pink Adidas tubular sneaker. Each year there is one athletic tennis shoe or sneaker that disappears the first day. Typically the ‘it’ sneaker is featured in the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale sneak peek magazine.
- Booties – If it catches your eye and is a unique color, it WILL sell out. The magazine showed mustard yellow, navy, olive, red, and pink booties this year.
- Basic Tees – I bought several tees by Lush at $15.90 each. I wore an XS and have several options.
