If you’ve been following me, you may know that I have some serious allergies and an ongoing struggle with eczema. As a result, I have morphed our household into a total crunchy-girl dream. Grain-free dog food and spirulina and turmeric are organized in labeled Oxo containers. We do not eat products with gluten or soy, and we try to fill up with organic veggies and free-range grilled chicken. Let’s be real… the most annoying part of trying to be healthy is EXPENSIVE prices. I mean, for every healthy description word, you might as well double the price. That is why I am thrilled to give you a heads up that Sprouts Farmers Market is opening their 300th store just down the street, in Simpsonville, South Carolina! Sprouts is a healthy grocery store chain that offers fresh, natural, and organic foods at great prices. The store is a beautiful and functional resource for Greenville! They cover every base and offer meat and seafood, packaged groceries, baked goods, dairy, and frozen foods. Unlike many other stores, they also offer bulk foods, vitamins and supplements, and natural body care and household items. Their Butcher Shop can provide any cut you prefer. Impressively, Sprouts has all-natural, never frozen, grass-fed and USDA choice beef, chicken, and pork. This is as fresh as it gets. Next, twenty varieties of sausage are ground daily, so I’ll give you a little secret here of from where my next cheese & meat tray will be sourced.
They, like me, believe healthy living should be accessible to everyone and have friendly, knowledgeable staff that are eager to support shoppers’ questions. We are all very busy people, so not all of us can lasso our families at 8 AM to make the weekly farmers market. And I always love the idea of saving money. Whether you are looking to dive into healthier foods, buy them at a much lower cost, or just live in the area, this will be your new go-to grocery store. Sprouts is able to get really affordable quality products by sourcing both bulk and locally. The part that is going to pull me out to shop Sprouts is the huge selection of organic, natural produce, priced at 20 – 25 percent below competitors. The hype is real: literally 90% of their 18,000 products are natural or organic. The other 10% are the mainstream sweets and treats our sugar tooth or kids want. I have a serious sweet tooth and definitely believe in balance and moderation. However, as I said before, I do try to steer clear of ingredients containing gluten, soy, and GMOs. You can bet that a raw product straight from the earth is great nourishment to our bodies. Sprouts stocks about 4,000 gluten-free, 3,000 non-GMO and 500 raw items. They will have one of the largest selections I have found around Greenville, so I can’t wait to find new favorites. Sprouts Farmers Market’s Grand Opening is June 13t. It is located across from Southside Christian School on Woodruff Road. It is just beyond the intense shopping centers and is easily accessible. Finally, if you are interested in keeping up to date with Sprouts happenings or get your daily dose of healthy inspiration, follow along on Social Media: INSTAGRAM, TWITTER, and FACEBOOK.
