You are probably aware that espadrilles are a fashion staple of the worldly, well traveled, boho-chic female. From Chanel versions to the handmade foreign street market variation, they are an excellent addition to your closet. Today I want to share my new favorite line of espadrilles: Nahlo Yoga Mat Espadrilles.
If you know me well or follow me on Instagram @theaudreyreel, you may have noticed that I practice hot yoga daily. I also teach once a week at my home studio, Soul Yoga. My favorite classes are at 5:45 and I rarely leave work before 5:15. You probably empathize when I say that I am very busy! I usually throw a sports bra and leggings in my car for practice. I don’t own flip-flops and often forget to grab a pair of flats to walk into the studio.
Imagine me running into the studio in leggings, sports bra, and either 4-inch heels, boots, or barefoot. This is a scene that happens far too often! Thus, I have been on the hunt for an easy, yet chic slip-on to keep in my car. Something to change into for the studio or to slip on for errands or the grocery store after practice.
Nahlo yoga gifted these beautiful Nahlo Ganika Yoga Mat Espadrille flats and they are exactly the functional yet gorgeous shoes I have needed for years! I received this product complimentary from Nahlo. The opinions are 100% my own. The black and gold color pictured above matches everything. I can slip them on without looking by pulling the back strap back and over my heel. I love cute yoga gear but had not considered upping my yoga-shoe game before I learned of the brand.
Best yet, the top sole is made of recycled yoga mat with memory foam underneath- what a dream! I have worn them for a few weeks and they are holding up nicely. Since the bottoms contain memory foam, they have already formed to my feet. The memory foam improves stability so I can demo a pose to a student on the way out of the studio. I have owned pairs that the past whose rope or espadrille material disintegrated. I can tell these are well-made. In addition, the shoes come with a little logo bag to keep them in.
It may sound funny, but I actually wipe them down with my mat cleaner after each class- after all they are soled with legitimate yoga mat material. As a result, they are easy to clean and maintain!
I have mostly worn these in and out of the studio this winter. When it warms up I plan to wear them to the beach, on boating adventures, traveling, and with dresses. I am dreaming of spring and wearing a pair of gold hoops, a ruffled wrap dress, and my Nahlos!

Nahlo offers bright, colorful variations of two styles; the Ganika, pictured, and the lace/tie-up Karabi style. I would love to grab THIS GOLD Karabi style for later, but I found the black and gold Ganikas more functional for me at the time being. I would also love to snag the red Ganikas. Although my first pair was gifted, I absolutely would recommend these to anyone and plan to purchase several pairs in the future!
