Hi friends! I have not posted in a little while, so I thought I would start with some life updates and fill you in on what I have been up to! My life has actually changed drastically since the start of them summer. I tend to be long-winded at times, so I will get right to it!
NEW CAR
I was really struggling after I had a series of negative things happen to me in April/May. I wrecked my car on the way to a massage… isn’t it ironic, don’t ya think? It was declared a total. Brad and I shared his truck for over a month before we decided to pull the plug on a white Jeep Wrangler. I am thrilled with our purchase and although I was short of a year of payments left on my Land Rover, we are enjoying the Jeep and riding top-down this summer. Ironically, it drives better and is newer than the LR2.
WE SOLD OUR HOME
Our first little investment home, see tour HERE, sold within 24 hours on the market. Read about how we made money through the “Live & Flip” process HERE.
WE BOUGHT A HOME
Meanwhile, we were in a panic to find a new house and about 3 weeks after we got a contract on our house, the perfect home popped up on a Monday morning (I looked religiously). I sent it to Brad at 10 AM. Better location, great price per sq ft to make money, nearly twice the size, and within our budget! We toured and put an offer in the first day. I am already working on the full breakdown of each step of renovation so you can add the updates to your own skill-book. Stay tuned and follow my Instagram for those posts and story updates of the process.
WE ARE NOW RENOVATING THIS HOME
I QUIT MY JOB
There is no question that I am just as much right brained as left (chemistry major, studio art minor). Above all, I have always felt destined to accomplish big, creative things. I felt I was not living out my destiny or potential through the past 7 years in corporate life. Furthermore, my company’s business plan as a chemical middle man was not a fruitful after 7 years there.
My desire to not simply jump to another corporate environment, but to swap industries, left me half-heartedly working my position for years longer than I intended. I decided at New Years that I would turn in my notice by the time I turned 30 on April 9th, 2019. My birthday passed and I procrastinated, but 3 months later and have not turned back. To summarize several other posts I am writing, it has been one of the best decisions I’ve made.
I STARTED A NEW JOB
I’m working on an article for you on how to pivot careers and know when to change jobs. My new job is a thoughtfully manifested transition to real estate. When we put our first house on the market, I mentioned to my real estate agent and family friend that I was ready to make a career move toward real estate. She told me that her previous company was actually looking for an administrative assistant to work a few days a week.
I started working 12-6, 3 days a week, as the broker’s assistant at Cornerstone Real Estate. Thus far, it is fast pace, and each day is different. My broker is passionate about his job and company. Some days, I walk the neighborhood to send progress photos of builds, while I use my photoshop skills to create neighborhood plats on others. In conclusion, my heart and wallet couldn’t be happier!
WE MOVED
Since we gutted both the master suite and kitchen of our home, we are unable to live there just yet. Therefore, we have moved into the back 2 rooms of my parents house. It is fun seeing my parents more often and we have plenty of space for a transitional home. However, we cannot wait to grow our personal space, enjoy quiet nights, decorate, and be back in the convenient epicenter of Greenville. My parents live 20 minutes from town and an hour from my work, so moving back will make things easier.

NEW SCHEDULE
In conclusion, I am now in transition of learning to juggle my passions: home renovations, real estate, painting, relationships, and blogging. Along with that, I am living outside of Greenville, in Easley, while we renovate. The drive makes logistics complicated! I am also trying to be more intentional about friendships and meeting friends for coffee. Of course, everything comes with balance and I know that if I am working hard it also requires a lot of self-reflection and self-care.
Finally, if there is anything you would like to see from my blog with regards to renovations, fashion, wellness, or more, message me an email at audiduncan@gmail.com or send me a DM on Instagram. I hope your summer passed swimmingly and your fall is already beautiful.
