Friday Trendwatch: Scarves

So for the sake of fashion, I wanted to post an old outfit I still break out from time to time featuring a beautiful gold scarf, an accessory that is taking a huge storm into the fashion world. Scarves are an emerging trend for 2017 and 2018 and are good for every season.  I often love to match a skirt or shoes with a scarf to pull an outfit together.

This scarf and skirt set are from Philip Lim x Target collaboration a few years ago, and I wear the scarf occasionally and the skirt all the time at work.  The crop top is 3 years old from Asos.com and my flats are worn 5+ years old navy flats- from Old Navy, and they are in currently in my Goodwill pile. I am wearing a Louis Vuitton Neverful tote in Medium (MM) that my husband bought me for my birthday.

I have been obsessed with this look and this combination and always hung onto them in case I ever did start this blog of mine that I dreamed since college (I graduated in 2012) that I may start.

Scarves can be worn as shown below, around the neck, on a bag, as a headband or turban, on your ankle, on your wrist, and even as a shirt if large and opaque enough.

Silk scarves are more valuable and higher quality, and there are a few brands that never lose their value- even when out of style. These include scarves from brands including HERMES, LOUIS VUITTON, MARC JACOBS, CHANEL, and GUCCI. Hermes is most known for their scarves and resell for $100+, while vintage ones are worth more!
