An Easy Transitional Cardigan and Summer Look

Happy Saturday and weekend to you! I wanted to share an easy way to bring a summery outfit into late summer today. Literally, just add a light cardigan! Adding a transitional cardigan makes shorts look more appropriate and tones down a “hot” outfit. Most of this look comes from the new H&M at Gaffney Market Outletplace. GUCCI TEE DUPE

Let’s start with my crop top. This was a $6 dupe for the infamous Gucci tee and I love the design of it, for literally 1% of the cost. I found this crop at the new H&M in Gaffney, SC at Gaffney Market Outletplace.

ATTENTION TO DETAIL

I grabbed my ever-favorite Gabriel earrings by Baublebar (linked below) as they red hues played off eachother perfectly.  I used my normal tote pocketbook by Louis Vuitton. Finally, I used these $12 B.P. sunglasses that are round. I love that they are oversized and protect my eyes just a little better than the tiny Ray Ban frames.

My sister, of TillmanSloanPhotography.com, shot this look last, so I am pretty sure I’m wearing 3-4 different layers and colors of lipstick here. My go-to favorites are Mangrove, Angel, Rebel, and Twig.

These shoes are Marc Fisher and were on sale last fall. Many similar styles flooded the market this summer. I have linked these below. I always order a size down in Marc Fisher.

The thin, olive, transitional cardigan tied the entire look together. I have tons of throw-over jackets and cardigans. I LOVE the look of a cardigan with shorts, especially when the cardigan is the longest item. This is definitely for the “dog-days of summer” when it is so hot out that it actually gets chilly in the evening in comparison.

These jeans are by One Teaspoon and were wildly popular last year. I still love the shape of them. Check out the brand when you are looking to add a great pair of tiny bootie shorts to your wardrobe. Obviously they are great over swimwear, but not work or appropriate in all situations. Downtown concert? Definitely! Again, the transitional cardigan tones down this look.
