What Really Matters: Love Your Melon

Self-love may be my favorite topic to write about because it is actually one of my weaknesses. This week is International Women’s week and self-love is the first thing I want to discuss. I struggle with perfectionism, comparison, and constant self-critique that turns toward criticism. I do not think you nor I could be reminded enough of our worth, uniqueness, and great impact in this world. That is why I love the products from Love Your Melon. I received this beanie from Love Your Melon the week our heat went out the first week of January, so I immediately threw it on to combat the 15-degree cold that was quickly seeping into our house.

THE VERDICT

I am impressed that the fabric is thick enough to keep my head warm. At the same time, it did not produce static like other brands’ fabrics. The black speckled pattern was versatile. The fabric is thick and has just enough of a stretch to stay loosely situated exactly wherever one places it on his or her head to wear it. The style is fitted so the end slumps over my head edgily. The cut adds a fun, stylistic feel to my noggin. It stretched just enough to fit but did not stretch with longer wear.

I forgot I was wearing it, because it is quite comfortable. I subconsciously read the logo, “LOVE YOUR MELON,” when I am facing the mirror and washing my hands. The beanie is definitely cute, edgy, and was a small reminder to me to be happy and have self-love.

I walked into the kitchen and my hubby immediately wanted to know where I got the beanie. He said it was the cutest beanie I have worn and really liked it. He started looking up the brand at www.LoveYourMelon.com to see if they had men’s options. Lucky for him, they have tons of mens and womens variations and a sundry of colors. Now, every time I wear it he says, “I – love your melon!”

A MISSION BEYOND FASHION

If this wasn’t enough to entice you go grab one of your own, the company has a refreshing mission and purpose. It is their goal to put a hat on every child battling pediatric cancer’s head. They also donate 50% of profits to their partners to support families of children battling cancer in addition to medical research.

In addition to the beanie I am wearing, the company offers pom-pom beanies and cuffed styles. They sell headbands, blankets, headbands, scarfs, mugs, shirts, and more. I have my eye on THIS BLACK SPECKLED SCARF to match my beanie. I also love the MINT COTTON OMBRE BEANIE, and SAFFRON SPECKLED KNIT HEADBAND. The Love Your Melon line makes for a great gift as they are all one-size fits all, are machine washable, made in the USA, and has the clever and obvious, yet underrated tagline of “LOVE YOUR MELON.”

Although our heat was out, receiving the hat was a reminder that God is looking out for us. It is a daily reminder to be thankful for our health and to love ourselves. It is a reminder of the braveness these children affected by pediatric cancer exhibit.

There is only one YOU and only ONE soul that experiences YOUR THOUGHTS, life, and outlook. Although very simple in essence, this beanie is my new favorite because it includes a wonderful mantra reminding me to be grateful, find happiness and appreciation for “my melon,” and helps give to others all at once.

Happy International Women’s Week! Remember to shop LOVE YOUR MELON and give some verbal love to some women in your life! Check out this OUTFIT POST to shop the rest of this look!
