Christmas Guides Part 7: Trending Gifts

Happy Monday Everyone and I hope you had a wonderful weekend! We are down to the wire and are just one week from Christmas! Perhaps you, like most of society, have waited pretty late to shop. No fear! You do not have as much time to order online and just need to know some popular and generic gift ideas. I have compiled some ideas and examples of great Christmas gift ideas that most people would appreciate. Read on to read about trending gifts and styles to look for while shopping:

STARS

If you are even an occasional shopper, you may have noticed that nearly every brand and store has been adding star accents to EVERYTHING. I love them and the unique details, especially on a sweatshirt, joggers, or on jeans.

FUZZY SLIPPERS

Let’s be Reel for a moment: slippers are one of those items people rarely buy for themselves yet always seem to need during those freezing evenings when the heat is just not moving fast enough. I love a rubber-soled pair to keep by the front door to grab mail or take out your pup in the middle of the night. Everyone can appreciate a cute pair of slippers from you niece to your grandma to your boss!

SHEARLING  & FLEECE

The athleisure and comfort-centered are heavily trending. Even Uggs are back in style and THAT my friends, is a little shocking. My favorite way to wear this trend is with shearling-lined cardigans and shearling pullovers. It’s basically the warmest athleisure available!

SEQUINS, METALLIC, & GLAM

From sequin leggings to metallic shoes or backpacks, don’t back down on anything metallic or sequined. I love the sequin leggings and metallic earrings.

CAPS AND BARETTES

Over the past 5 years, floppy hats have ruled the fashion scene for at least 5 years now. If you have a fashionable lady in your life, go off the beaten path and buy a nice newboy cap or barette. I mean the traditional French girl style hat. Although this trend is newer, it is here to stay.

CAMEL AND LEOPARD

Camel is huge right now and I love any camel items in the form of shoes, coats, cardigans, and more. Leopard is also considered a neutral again and it pairs great with camel. The only tip I have is do not mix more than 2 leopard pieces.

SOCK BOOTS AND OVER-THE-KNEE BOOTS

Sock booties are form fitting and go great with the culotte, crop, and high ankle jean styles that are prevelant in fashion right now. Over the knee boots are especially popular at the moment and can be paired with leggings, mini skirts, dresses, jeans, and almost any other look. Go for a pointed toe for an even more elongated leg.

UNIQUELY CUT SWEATERS

Off shoulder and cold shoulder sweaters are, although breezy, oddly popular right now. Fun details like ruffled seams, bell-sleeves, cinched necks and wrists, and cut-outs are all over the mall. Anything goes with sweaters these days, but always make sure that the fabric is soft and not itchy!
