Michael Todd Beauty Sonicblend Makeup Brush

My goal with The Audrey Reel is to keep you updated on the latest beauty tools and technology.  I want to keep you aware of any tool that could speed up your routine, perfect your look, and provide a boost of confidence for you! The Michael Todd Beauty Sonicblend Makeup Brush is the easiest way to achieve a perfect, flawless look and finish. A smooth finish is key to getting the natural, no-makeup makeup look. A natural look is key to pulling off any makeup look.

Unless you have been living under a rock, you likely know that the Kardashians have made “contouring” a key part of makeup application.  Contouring can help align or adjust our off-centered features since we can’t all have Abe Lincoln’s face symmetry.  It can also help “pop” our best features and create dimension so that our face looks bright, glowing, & healthy! I love to contour when I am going out or know a lot of photos will be taken. It gives me a boost when I need to be photogenic.

I was gifted the Michael Todd Beauty Sonicblend Makeup Brush and am excited to report that it helped me achieve that photogenic movie-star glow. I have hundreds of contouring brushes but the sonic technology of the Sonicblend is the best I have tried for blending. You may have heard the key to great makeup is blending.

The Michael Todd Beauty Sonicblend has a removeable brush head that utilizes over 400-micro movements per second. I found my application was fast, easy, and comparable to an airbrushed finish. I had no problem getting that high cheekbone ‘cut’ I use less product and feel like it creates a smooth layer of product over my pores rather than filling them and clogging. The Sonicblend brush has antimicrobial technology that keeps the brush clean longer.

The Michael Todd Beauty Sonicblend Makeup Brush has patented 3D flaw-fill technology. The intuitive movements dispers liquid or powder product evenly. This prevents clumping and results in a perfect blend. Further, I have to keep brushing and blending product across my face. This buffering gives me redness under my foundation that sticks around an hour or two. I found that the quicker application and sonic movements produce less reddening as I don’t have to add pressure.

Finally, the Michael Todd Beauty Sonicblend Makeup Brush comes in ergonomic and beautiful printed handles like a tortoiseshell finish, a lipstick kiss, and mermaid scale prints.

I created a contouring tutorial on my Youtube Channel to show you how I use this new tool. Scroll down to watch how I contour with THIS Kat Von D Contour pallet and the Michael Todd Beauty Sonicblend Makeup Brush. Comment below if you’ve tried Michael Todd Beauty products. Let me know if you have contouring questions or if this post helps inspire you to break out your first contour!

PRODUCT USED IN TUTORIAL (CLICK ON ITEM TO OPEN PRODUCT LINK):

  1. Murad Invisible Perfect Shield Primer – This stuff is the BOMB and has SPF. It makes my skin so smooth & doesn’t cause pilling.
  2. Tarte Shape Tape (Light-Medium Honey) – This is a Beauty Blogger CULT favorite. It can be used as concealer, primer, highlighter, & MORE!
  3. Beauty Blender Sponge – Top of the line in beauty sponges. I always have one on hand!
  4. Estee Lauder Double Wear Nude Foundation – Water Fresh Makeup Broad Spectrum – SPF 30 (Honey Bronze, 4W1) – My absolute favorite brand. I am using the water, more transparent version called “water fresh.” This is technically my summer color so it appears a lot more orange on me at the moment. I need to grab my winter color, but it doesn’t hurt to bring in some color when we are paler.
  5. Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge Set – This makeup sponge is a great deal. They are much denser than the beauty blender brand and soak up more product.
  6. Setting Powder Brush – OLD (SIMILAR HERE) – This brush was from an old set I bought on Groupon in 2006 for $25. I linked the awesome Kat Von D version here. I had it as well but was trying to dry it quicker with a hair dryer – and I singed/burned the bristles! I was so bummed to have to toss it!
  7. Laura Mercier Invisible Loose Setting Powder – Not what I used in the video, but I prefer this setting powder. It has a transparent color to it (very neutral) while the one I used in the video is more transparent.
  8. Tarte Smooth Operator Amazonian Clay Finishing Powder – I love the small particle size of this powder!
  9. Kat Von D Shade + Light Face Contour Refillable Palette – This is hands down my favorite contour palette. The colors can be replaced individually if you tend to favor a certain color or one color breaks into dust. The shades are very grey-color-based so you don’t look orange and to mimic a shadow. This is why you NEVER use bronzer to contour.
  10. Michael Todd Beauty Sonicblend –  MAKEUP BRUSH GAME-CHANGER! If it wasn’t for having to wash the brush of the contour colors, I would have used this brush for every last application from the liquid foundation to liquid concealer to contour and blush! The LIFE protection on the brush is antimicrobial meaning reduced bacteria and the bristles stay cleaner, longer. The brush head is also removable for cleaning. The 3D flaw-fill technology creates 400+ sonic oscillations per second to create an even dispersion of liquid or powder product. This dissolves clumps and produces an airbrush-quality smooth finish. The perfect blend makes your face POP and gives you a glowing appearance perfect for photos and amplifies YOUR beautiful traits.
  11. Nose contour brush: Sephora Collection PRO Contour Brush #79
  12. Highlight Contour: Sephora Collection Pro Foundation Brush
  13. Maybelline Volum’ Express The Colossal Mascara – If this product is ever discontinued I will be so lost! My favorite $7 drugstore formulation for over 10 years!
  14. Mac Lip Liner (in Soar) – This is such a great lip liner. It can be used as the only color (filled in) and works with nudes, pinks, and even reds! You may notice I overline my lips in the video.
  15. Mac Lipstick (in Twig) – The perfect pinky nude. This color is so modern and fits any skin profile!
  16. NARS Blush (in Orgasm) – I’ve always used this color for my cheeks.
  17. VIB Rouge Pro Mini Flawless Airbrush 56.5 Blush Brush (for Blush)
